PODER hiring Youth Organizer- are you passionate about environmental justice and building youth power?

April 16, 2024 by Lucas Solórzano

While PODER is an intergenerational organization, the youth program serves to build Latinx youth organizing power that is culturally rooted. The Youth Organizer is responsible for implementing PODER’s youth organizing work. This includes: base building, leadership development, organizing, campaigns, and solidarity work that builds long term power and transformation in our communities. The Youth Organizer will be supervised by the Organizing Director and be supported in building out a youth team. The position requires deep collaboration with other PODER staff, youth leaders, and allies. The Youth Organizer is also responsible for the coordination and implementation of the Common Roots Program, a joint effort between PODER and the Chinese Progressive Association (CPA), that develops cross-cultural solidarity and deepens understanding of social and political issues impacting San Francisco’s Latinx and Chinese immigrant communities.
